Are you a freelancer who needs an office outside of Starbucks? (YES, I am!) The Village Executive Suites in Houston is the perfect ‘home’ away from the coffee shop.

I had the opportunity to work with the great folks at VES the past couple months by developing an identity and overall brand — business cards, marketing materials, way finding signing, etc. Once the space was completed, they brought me in to photograph the building from head to toe. I think they secretly wanted me to fall in love with the office (… and their plan totally worked!)

The executive-style offices offer incredible amenities like a mail center, shared conference room space, coffee bar and community receptionist, and is within walking distance to great restaurants and shopping in the Village. Besides the great location, the building itself is unlike any office I’ve seen. Clean lines, custom artwork by local studio Imago Dei, modern furniture and unique wall treatments make this space a professional presence for small companies and freelancers alike.

Andrew + Lindsey: Engaged

I’m finally able to blog Lindsey and Andrew’s engagement session! Lindsey (my roommate!) and her fiancé, Andrew, are set to be married April 7th, 2012 at the Haak Winery in Santa Fe, Texas. I’m excited to be their wedding photographer and invitation designer for their special day! Keep your eyes peeled for those images later this spring.

I shot the first round of images late last fall, but ran into some terrible rain during their session! Luckily we got in an hour’s worth of shooting before we had to just call it quits. Andrew was busy studying for law school finals in December, so we postponed the rest of the shoot until January.

Your Modern Couple | Engagements

“Hey! Haaaave you met Derek and Catharine?” (I’ve been watching too much HIMYM tonight …)

But seriously. Derek and Catharine are without a doubt the most creative couple I’ve ever met! Together they write an all-things-creative blog called Your Modern Couple based in San Antonio, Texas. Catharine, otherwise known as The Girl, and Derek, The Boy, started their design blog together when they first started dating. They feature tons of modern DIY projects (my favorite is this project!), 10 Things about their creative friends, and great fashion in the What I Wore posts each Thursday.

So, naturally I said ABSOLUTELY YES when these two asked me to be their wedding and engagement photographer for their wedding on 12.12.12! Did I mention their affinity with numbers? Derek proposed to Catharine on 11.11.11 so it only seemed fitting for their wedding date to be the coolest date of 2012 (and on a Wednesday!) This past weekend they drove to Houston for their engagement session and I took them on quite the adventure. Catharine noticed a polka-dotted lobby across from the parking lot where we had been shooting and, after careful investigation and a few kind words, we entered the Houston House Modern Apartments in the heart of downtown. Talk about stunning interiors! We headed up to the 9th floor for a little pool/patio/skyline action and could not have asked for a cooler location!

I cannot be more excited to partner with Derek and Catharine as they plan what I believe will be the most chic, modern wedding of 2012. Greg and Malissa | Engagements

Greg and Malissa are two of the sweetest people I know! We had such a fun time during their engagement session last week, and you can tell these two are head over heels for each other. They are high school sweethearts, Texas Tech Red Raiders, and Malissa’s older sister, Sarah, is one of my dearest friends! These two have some really fun things planned for their July 1st Houston wedding — casual atmosphere, lots of bold patterns, and some of my favorite colors (navy, gray and mustard!) We just looked at all their engagement photos this morning, so now I can post the images! I hope you all enjoy them as much as we do :)

2012 Wedding Season in Full Swing

Happy Almost 2012! I hope everyone had a wonderful, joyful Christmas with friends and loved ones. From what I have heard, many of you got a little something SHINY in your stocking this year! Congratulations to all the engagements out there! I have spoken with three brides TODAY alone about their upcoming 2012 weddings, and it has me so excited about this next year. My favorite part about talking with brides is hearing their story — from first date to proposal. I seriously get goosebumps with each one.

Your wedding is the perfect reflection of who you are as a couple, and I’m here to help you achieve just that!
