Your Modern Couple | Engagements

“Hey! Haaaave you met Derek and Catharine?” (I’ve been watching too much HIMYM tonight …)

But seriously. Derek and Catharine are without a doubt the most creative couple I’ve ever met! Together they write an all-things-creative blog called Your Modern Couple based in San Antonio, Texas. Catharine, otherwise known as The Girl, and Derek, The Boy, started their design blog together when they first started dating. They feature tons of modern DIY projects (my favorite is this project!), 10 Things about their creative friends, and great fashion in the What I Wore posts each Thursday.

So, naturally I said ABSOLUTELY YES when these two asked me to be their wedding and engagement photographer for their wedding on 12.12.12! Did I mention their affinity with numbers? Derek proposed to Catharine on 11.11.11 so it only seemed fitting for their wedding date to be the coolest date of 2012 (and on a Wednesday!) This past weekend they drove to Houston for their engagement session and I took them on quite the adventure. Catharine noticed a polka-dotted lobby across from the parking lot where we had been shooting and, after careful investigation and a few kind words, we entered the Houston House Modern Apartments in the heart of downtown. Talk about stunning interiors! We headed up to the 9th floor for a little pool/patio/skyline action and could not have asked for a cooler location!

I cannot be more excited to partner with Derek and Catharine as they plan what I believe will be the most chic, modern wedding of 2012.
